Experience the technologies of the future in the field: open house at Value4Farm on June 4

How can solar panels, grass, and manure be turned into both food and green energy—and work better together on the farm? Find out at the Value4Farm Open House event on June 4 at AU Viborg.

Three technologies that have the potential to transform how we use agricultural land will be demonstrated in practice when the Value4Farm research project hosts its Open House. As a farmer, advisor, or energy planner, you will have the opportunity to see the solutions up close—in the field—and meet the researchers behind them.

From field to energy supply

Value4Farm works with three technological platforms that can each—and especially in combination—contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural system:

  • Agrivoltaics combines solar panels and crops on the same plot of land, enabling both energy and food production from a single field
  • Green biorefining converts grass into protein feed, fertilizer, and other bio-based products—with the potential to replace imported soy and synthetic fertilizers
  • Biomethanation transforms by-products from biorefining and livestock manure into green gas

“We believe that future energy solutions and agriculture must be developed together—not separately. This requires the technologies to work in practice, which is why we're excited to showcase them in the field,” says project leader Uffe Jørgensen from Aarhus University.

Meet the researchers behind the technologies

A range of experts will be present at the Open House event to share their knowledge. Among others, you can meet:

  • Uffe Jørgensen, Aarhus University
  • Maryam Rahimi Jahangirlou, Aarhus University
  • Kamau Lindhardt, Aarhus University
  • Morten Ambye-Jensen, Aarhus University
  • Michael Vedel Wegener Kofoed, Aarhus University

The event is held in collaboration with Green Valleys’ seminar on biodiversity in grass cultivation, making it a great opportunity for an inspiring afternoon of knowledge-sharing, networking, and hands-on demonstrations.
