International work

DCA facilitates knowledge brokering and provides science advice towards international policy, primarily EU, setting the agenda; and brokers the knowledge from the international level towards the national context to bridge the science to policy gap. Further, DCA has experience operationalizing science-policy-society interfaces at EU, national and local levels through engagement, communication and the exploitation of knowledge.

Specific activites

Building Science-to-Policy capacity and mechanisms in an EU context

Through its vast and long experience carrying out science policy advice, DCA supports efforts at European level to facilitate exchange of experiences, challenges and best practices to provide science-based policy advice (Agroecology, FutureFoodS, Psoilicy, GhentGroup).

Shaping and influencing future EU research and innovation agendas

DCA handles cooperation and representation in the European networks that primarily deal with European research policy in the agricultural and food sectors.

  • Primary contact person for several of the subcommittees under the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR).
  • Primary contact person for several EU Innovation Networks including EIT Food, EU CAP Network, ATF.

Operationalizing the Science-Policy-Society interfaces through knowledge brokering to broad stakeholder groups and society at large.

Coordinating communication efforts and events through various networks and partnerships (SoilTribes).

Leading the Danish National Mirror Group - SOIL, bringing together Danish authorities, researchers, advisors, businesses, NGOs and other stakeholders to ensure vital knowledge sharing and a focus on soil health. 

Facilitating the exploitation of knowledge through the Soil Network Europe, a newsletter tailored to various stakeholders working with soil health in Europe and the Soil Innovation Partnership.

Coordinating engagement, communication and exploitation activities in several partnerships, offering graphical and technical vision and expertise, working both internationally, nationally and locally to support knowledge sharing (Agroecology, FutureFoods, Soil Harmony, Psoilicy).

Facilitating knowledge brokering through networks and partnerships in an international context

DCA has extensive experience in professional project management of large research projects, especially collaborative Horizon Europe research and innovation projects (PREPSOIL, NATI00NS). As coordinators, DCA has extensive experience from pre-award (preparing competitive proposals for the EU projects) and implementation of projects (monitoring, technical reporting, cost management). Implementation of EU Coordination and Support Actions and partnerships, carrying out activities and facilitating progress bridging public-private R&I projects funded by the EU and the European Commission (SOILL Start-Up).
