The Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) advises the European Commission, member states, and other countries on priorities in agricultural and food-related research and innovation in the EU. In recent years, SCAR's mandate has expanded to also cover fisheries, forestry, and the bioeconomy as a whole.
SCAR plays a role in shaping effective research and innovation strategies and contributes to the coordination of national research and innovation efforts.
