Precilience Webinar: Facing Climate Risks in Agriculture and Forestry in Northern Europe
Join us for Precilience's upcoming webinar where we’ll explore how climate-related changes are unfolding across the region and how farmers, forest managers, and researchers are responding.
Climate change is already affecting agriculture and forestry across Northern Europe, but the impacts, risks and opportunities often play out locally, shaped by regional conditions, ecosystems, and actors on the ground.
Through three short presentations and a discussion, this webinar will explore:
- Climate-related changes impacting Northern Europe;
- How farmers, forest managers, and other stakeholders are responding on the ground;
- What types of adaptation are needed in real-world contexts, through the scientific insights, practical stories, and a conceptual risk framework;
- An opportunity to hear from the project's partners from Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute and Natural Resources Institute Finland and ask your questions during an open Q&A session.
The session will feature presentations by Research Scientist Karoliina Rimhanen (LUKE), Research Leader Gustav Strandberg (SMHI), Research Scientist Nadia Testani (LUKE) and Finnish arable farming consultant Olli-Pekka Ruponen.
