Do you have a good business idea that supports the biobased sector, and would you like to get feedback from the leading forces in this field with the added bonus of a prize worth DKK 50,000? Then put pen to paper, write down your idea, and take part in Agro Business Park’s Innovation Competition 2016.

The annual competition aims to stimulate the development of new projects, products and companies within the biobased economy. Three winning projects will be selected from among the entrants, and a cash prize of DKK 50,000 will be awarded to each of the winners, who will also benefit from a free period of three months at Agro Business Park’s innovation office in Foulum or the Agro Food Park Incubator in Skejby.

A record number of forty-one applications were received last year, and the three winning projects were a method to extract protein from mussels, a system for automated harrowing surveillance, and a refining process that can increase saponin production. The three winners and a number of participants from other projects were subsequently offered assistance by Agro Business Park to turn their ideas into reality.

To take part in the Innovation Competition 2016, you must submit a good business idea that does not yet involve any registered sales. The ideas will be assessed by a strong jury, who will take into consideration topicality, technological and knowledge-based news value, business potential and the opportunity to realise the idea commercially.

Sponsors for the Innovation Competition 2016 are Aarhus University, Viborg Municipality, CAPNOVA, Danish Crown and Agro Food Park.

The organisers of the competition are Agro Business Park, Innovation Network for Biomass (INBIOM), Enterprise Europe Network, Future Food Innovation and Danstable.
