The conference of the International Society for Equitation Science, ISES 2014, which is being held in Vingsted near Vejle in August this year, will have Princess Benedikte as its patron. Princess Benedikte is known for her strong commitment to equestrian matters and to horsemanship.

- We are very pleased that Princess Benedikte has assumed the duties as patron of the conference. The Princess writes in her acknowledgement that the patronage is a recognition of our work with horse behaviour and horse-riding safety, which are issues that are close to her heart. With the patronage the princess will be able to stimulate more interest in the research and in the upcoming conference in Denmark, says researcher Janne Winther Christensen from the Department of Animal Science at Aarhus University.

The ISES 2014 international conference is held under the auspices of the International Society for Equitation Science (ISES). The conference is the 10th of its kind and is held in a different country each year. The main themes of the conference this year are horse cognition, training, behaviour and stress.
