Tenure-Track opportunity: Tenure-track position in nutrition and physiology of pigs

The Science and Technology Tenure Track at Aarhus University is an attractive career opportunity for promising researchers from all over the world.

 As our successful candidate, you will be appointed for a period of six years with the prospect of performance-based advancement to a tenure position (associate professor/senior scientist).


Your tasks

The main activity of the announced position will be research within the area of pig nutrition and physiology with a special focus on minerals (e.g. zinc and copper). The overall scope is to facilitate a sustainable and robust pig production with special focus on nutritional intervention to support animal health and reducing environmental impact. The activities will include research on digestion, absorption, metabolism, utilization and requirements of nutrients and method development supporting the research. Furthermore, the candidate will have to:

 

  • attract external funding,
  • take part in teaching and supervision,
  • participate in consultancy of authorities,
  • be active in knowledge exchange with society and industry.

 

Your profile

 

  • Qualifications for the Tenure-Track Programme at Aarhus University include minimum 2 years’ experience at postdoc level with a research profile and publication record in nutrition and physiology of pigs.
  • You are expected to have a research profile in nutrition and physiology of pigs as demonstrated by an international and peer reviewed publication record within the area.
  • It is an advantage to have international experience through a PhD-study and/or post doc experience and international collaboration with strong internationally leading research groups.

The place of employment is Aarhus University (AU) and the place of work is the Department of Animal Science, Science and Technology, Blichers Allé 20, DK-8830 Tjele. Teaching activities will primarily be conducted at AU-Campus, 8000 Aarhus.
